Javiera Atenas Teaching & Learning Technologist, Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy (UCL STEaPP) University College London London, UK Javiera Atenas, PhD candidate at the Universitat de Barcelona, her research is focused on developing a framework for quality assurance in repositories of open educational resources. Her research projects involved the analysis of the current models of OER repositories and evaluate academic skills on the use of OER. She has collaborated with the UNESCO, OCW consortium and with the Open Knowledge Foundation. Her research interests are related Open Access to Knowledge, Open Educational Practices, Open Science Open Data and intellectual property but also in academic development of open educational practices as digital literacies. Holds a BA in library and information sciences from UTEM Santiago, an MPhil in Information and Knowledge Management from HAW Hamburg / Universitat de Barcelona and a post graduate certificate in intercultural relations from the Hochschule Bremen. Paul Bacsich is Senior Consultant (European Projects) at Sero Consulting Ltd. He is currently Project Manager for the EU Project POERUP - Policies for OER Uptake - funded under KA3 of the Lifelong Learning Programme. He also has his own consultancy company Matic Media Ltd. In his earlier career he was a project manager and researcher at the UK Open University and then Professor/Head of Department of Computing & Networks at Sheffield Hallam University. His research and consultancy interests cover the areas of OER, distance education, and e-learning, with particular focus on benchmarking, quality, quality, cost-effectiveness and change management. He has given invited presentations in most countries of Europe as well as in recent years in US, Canada, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and Brazil. Anna leads work on Open Resources and Practices at the Department of Languages, The Open University, UK, where she headed the development of LORO, an open repository of teaching resources for language teachers and learners. She has researched and published in the areas of technology-enhanced and mobile language learning, and open educational resources and practices, Anna has championed the embedding of open practices in several projects ranging from the collaborative writing of teaching materials, to the application of theatre and performance to language teaching, or the exploration of Open Translation tools and practices. She is one of the editors of Case Studies of Openness in the Language Classroom, the first book that collects language teachers' experiences of engaging with open resources and practices. Alastair Creelman Board member of the European Foundation for Quality in E-learning (EFQUEL) E-Learning Specialist at Linnaeus University in Kalmar Kalmar, Sweden
Alastair Creelman is E-Learning Specialist at Linnaeus University in Kalmar, Sweden and is a board member of EFQUEL (European Foundation for Quality in E-learning). Has been programme chair for the EFQUEL Innovation Forum conference 2012 and 2014 and is highly visible in social media commenting on developments in e-learning. He has extensive teaching experience (teaching English and telecommunications) in schools, adult education, corporate training and higher education in the UK, Sweden and Finland. Has lead and participated in numerous national and international projects in fields such as open educational resources in higher education, blended learning, social media, virtual worlds and MOOCs. Teresa McKinnon Principal Teaching Fellow Language Centre University of Warwick Coventry, UK
Teresa McKinnon is an award winning language teacher and Certified Member of the Association for Learning Technology. She is experienced in technology enhanced learning design in secondary and higher education. Recent projects include the development of a ground breaking platform for online language learning, she curates CPD resources for language tutors. She researches and designs to find solutions supporting student-centred pedagogy. A career long exponent of the importance of high quality language teaching in the UK, she was involved in the development of the National Language Standards (now National Occupational Standards), delivered specialist input into the Ofqual Vocational awards review. Teresa is Vice Chair for external engagement and communications on the University Council for Modern Languages where she leads the online networks for this over-arching organisation for UK HEI language provision. Ebba Ossiannilsson PhD Project Manager at Lund University, Sweden EDEN Fellow 2014 Lund, Sweden
Ossiannilsson PhD, is Project Manager at the Centre for Educational Development, Lund University Sweden. She has been working since 2000 with strategic issues on e-learning, online and distance learning, MOOCs, OERs and open education, on benchmarking and quality. Her dissertation from Oulu University, Finland was on international benchmarking, and quality enhancement on e-learning in Higher Education. She serves as quality reviewer for UNIQe, ECB Check and Epprobate. She was responsible for benchmarking projects at Universities in Sweden since 2008 and she serves as a consultant on benchmarking, quality, e-learning, OER and MOOCs. She earned the EDEN Fellow 2014. She is the Swedish partner of Campus NooA. She is a Board member in EDEN-NAP, EFQUEL, EPPROBATE, SVERD, OER SERVICES, NordicOER, OERSweden, BoldicOER.
